Eastenders E20 Theme Tune Drum and Bass Style
The BBC will broadcast a drama solely on the internet for the first time ever. Eastenders: E20 is the new spin-off soap from Eastenders, and with it came the requirement for a new modern theme tune.
So, the BBC held an Eastender them tune competition and selected winner Carl Darling's track to be the introduction song for the new online soap. The reason I thought you would find this interesting is that the chosen song is a 174bpm drum and bass track!
It starts off as exactly what you would expect to hear in a Eastenders theme tune dnb intro, and drops into something I'd sooner rather forget, but I did listen about 20 times until the laughs ran out. Listen and judge for yourself.
BBC 1Xtra's, DJ Ace said on the BBC website : "...the winning track is a definite banger!! Don't be surprised if you start hearing this in clubs up and down the country!"
Erm, Ace, are you for real? Surely 1Extra djs should know better! Drum and bass has a bad enough reputation without shite music like this being 'the face of young people'? Oh hang on, I see what it is now, Ace lists a hobby as 'chatting shizzle' and he recently got a free trip to the eastenders set, so if I put these 2 things together...
BBC, you've scored a miss this time... oh did you not know about dubstep? Yeah it's the new thing now, all the kids are doing it.

I agree, the sound is awful, although my ears will remain safe as I don't watch the rubbish!
